The weather is heating up, but we’re keeping the drinks cold at Saddles. We’d like to introduce Bartender David Nepove, who has joined the Saddles team and created a new list of refreshing summer cocktails. He shared with us his inspiration for each concoction, and his spin on classic flavors will have your mouth watering for these summer-inspired drinks. Enjoy poolside under a shady umbrella or take respite from the heat at Saddles’ bar. Read on about our 9 new summer cocktails below, and join us for a taste soon. Cheers!
9 New Summer Cocktails at Saddles
While looking through the pantry I found the kitchen had made and canned their own grape juice. Looking to utilize local and house-made ingredients, I found this juice a new home.
Grapes of Wrath
Vodka, Pear Liqueur, Fresh Lime, House-Made Grape Juice, Ruby Port
Taking a “time out” for a delicious Daiquiri is a common occurrence for many bartenders today, I thought I would invite you all to the party.
DTO (Daiquiri Time Out)
Local Sonoma Rum, House-Made Honey Ginger Syrup, Lime Juice, Fresh Pineapple
There is apple cider and then there is “Perry”. Why it is not called Pear Cider I’ll never know. The Pear in this Moscow Mule adds just enough to make one get excited about Moscow Mules all over again.
Vodka, Pear Liqueur, Fresh Lime, Ginger Beer
It’s not a New York Sour and it’s not an Amaretto Sour, nor a Whiskey Sour….but when you mix them all together…it’s time for a little Sundance.
Bourbon, Amaretto, Angostura Bitters, Lemon Juice, with a float of Ruby Port
Inspired by a Rusty Nail and the fact that Irish Mist is downright delicious, the end result will have you disappearing back to the bar for another…
The Irish Goodbye
Scotch, Drambuie, Irish Mist
Inspired by the classic Clover Club. This drink is more than just Pretty in Pink. It has got just enough tart and the right amount of tang.
Sage and Clover
Gin, House-Made 3-Berry Syrup, Lemon Juice, Sage
When Mr. Santer invented the Revolver over a decade ago, his genius was pure inspiration.
Steam Punk Revolver
Rye Whiskey, Amaro, Crème de Cacao, Orange Bitters
While looking through the kitchen, I found enough fig jam to feed all of Sonoma. So come to get in line and get your “jam on”.
Sidecar Named Desire
Brandy, Orange Liqueur, House-Made Fig Jam, Lemon Juice, Rhubarb Bitters
Inspired by the “Breakfast Martini” all this needs is some toast made my Mr. Salvatore.
Tequila, Orange Liqueur, Orange Marmalade, Lime
