Harvest Season in Sonoma
Autumn is on the horizon, which in wine country means crisp mornings, warm days, golden sunshine and, of course, the exciting start of harvest season in Sonoma. The much-anticipated harvest and crush of the year’s grape crop is celebrated in Sonoma with music festivals, seasonal dinners and community gatherings. Some of our favorite upcoming events, all within minutes of MacArthur Place, are highlighted below.
Harvest Season Events in Sonoma
Sonoma Harvest Music Festival at B.R. Cohn
September 14 & 15 and September 21 & 22, 2019 at B.R. Cohn Winery
Run by the masterminds behind Bottlerock, The Sonoma Harvest Music Festival is a more intimate festival (limited to 4k guests) held at a stunning and storied Sonoma winery. Spread out over two autumn weekends, this year’s amazing lineup includes Lauryn Hill, Ben Harper, Death Cab for Cutie, CHVRCHES, Cold War Kids and many more. In addition to incredible music, the festival features local wine, craft beer, and food in the beautiful B.R. Cohn vineyard near the hamlet of Glen Ellen.
“…the festival perfectly pairs great music with the best of what Sonoma Valley has to offer, artisanal foods from Sonoma’s acclaimed chefs plus B.R. Cohn’s selection of premium wines and Northern California craft beer.”
Beffa Springs Ranch Dinners
Experience ranch to table dinners served al fresco on the family’s Petaluma farm, featuring food grown on the property or neighboring farms. Dinner is always served family-style (usually by a family member!) to encourage community connections, and meals are paired with live music. Our very own Executive Chef Cole Dickinson partners with Beffa Springs Ranch to source beef for Layla, so we can certainly vouch first-hand for their quality and hospitality.
Farmer’s Market in Sonoma Plaza
Catch the final weeks of this quintessential event which combines a healthy dose of community spirit with an eclectic mix of fresh produce and flowers from local vendors, live music, gourmet food trucks, beer and wine (+ BYOB!). Take a short stroll from MacArthur Place or borrow a Blix bike for this Tuesday tradition.
Thursday Dinners at EDGE
Stone Edge Farm & Vineyards has created a pop-up community dinner every Thursday with a three-course tasting harvest menu. “Each dish is designed to showcase Stone Edge Farm’s exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon wines in conversation with the finest seasonal ingredients, many of which are sourced directly from our own nearby 16-acre organic farm.”
MacArthur Place is celebrating the harvest season in Sonoma with a seasonal package, Taste the Harvest. This package was created in partnership with Bohemian Highway to give our guests an exclusive opportunity to pick grapes and taste the fruits of your labor.
