Explore | Winter Wine Tasting

Explore Sonoma wineries in the winter, and notice the vineyards abloom with brilliant yellow flowers. These mustard flowers are an integral part of the winemaking process. Mustard plants are used as cover crops in sustainable farming to naturally replace nutrients and enrich the soils while the vines are dormant in the winter and early spring. The result is fertile soils and healthy vineyard ecosystems that in turn produce delicious, and sustainable wines that garner world-wide attention. Not only do you get an amazing memory (and unique photo) but you also receive awareness to the rich flavors in your glass.

Explore | Winter Hikes

More than just wineries, get out and explore Sonoma on your two feet or two wheels.  Pack an extra layer and enjoy a sunny winter afternoon on a number of local trails.  We reached out to the Northern California outdoor experts, Weekend Sherpa, and they suggested three top hikes including Tolay Lake Regional Park, PlanetWalk at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, and North Sonoma Mountain Regional Park.  Be sure to pack water and a journal, as the vistas will surely inspire memories of the past and thoughts for the future.
