With so many fabulous Sonoma restaurants, it can be overwhelming to choose the right one. Our concierge put together a list of some of the best Sonoma dining experiences that we recommend to our guests.

One of the many attractive things about MacArthur Place is that it is only four blocks to the Historic Sonoma Plaza where most of the restaurants are located. You can walk up, enjoy wine with your meal, and return to your room on foot. This is also true of the over 30 tasting rooms now present on our Plaza. Whether you are looking for fine dining, wine tasting, or a place to grab a quick bite, Sonoma has it all.

Our top recommended restaurants in Sonoma are the girl & the fig, a French Bistro with Rhone style wines and Café La Haye, a small, 12 table, farm to fork restaurant that is only open five nights a week, Tuesday – Saturday. The girl & the fig is open 7 days a week for lunch, dinner and cocktails.

Other options include La Salette and the El Dorado Kitchen, both located on Sonoma Plaza. La Salette is Portugese with an Mediterranean influence while EDK, as we call it, is upscale farm to fork with a great bar.

If fine dining is what you’re after, Santé, in the Fairmont Sonoma Mission, is a short drive from MacArthur Place and offers a sophisticated fine dining experience.

EL DORADO KITCHEN

Executive Chef Armando Navarro’s award-winning and locally-loved menu is crafted from Sonoma ingredients that change with the seasons. Fresh oysters and seafood, specialty Wagyu beef, pork, local, farm-raised chicken and seasonal fruits and vegetables headline their daily custom menus. A sweet selection of desserts, artisan cheeses, after-dinner cocktails, and digestifs round out the superb dining experience at El Dorado Kitchen.

Heavily tilted toward local Sonoma and Napa wineries, the robust wine list is a virtual tour through California wine country and includes more than 200 hand-picked selections, with additional international wines from France, Italy, Australia, and Spain. They also strive to seek out and showcase wineries that promote organic and biodynamic agriculture.

El Dorado Kitchen is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and Sunday for brunch. Join them in the main dining room, front corner café, on the tree-lined outdoor patio, cozy bar, or in the private dining room.

LA SALETTE
