Artist in Residence Clay Mahn Workshop

As part of our artist-in-residence series in partnership with Uprise Art, we welcome Missoula, Montana-based artist Clay Mahn to MacArthur Place. In Clay’s workshop, participants will explore the geometric language of the American barn quilt, reimagining these iconic forms not as replicas, but as personal interpretations that bridge fine art, craft, and community tradition. Attendees will gain insight into Clay’s broader practice and his own use of geometry as a patterned language – one that transforms modernist abstraction into something deeply lived, shared, and rooted in memory and identity.
