On Site
We welcome Los Angeles-based photography duo, Jessica Haye & Clark Hsiao (working under the collective title The Collaborationist) to MacArthur Place as part of our artist-in-residence series in partnership with Uprise Art. Exploring the recurring interplay between the epic and the everyday, the monumental and the mundane, their photographs examine the emotive and narrative power of both nature and man-made environments. During their time in Sonoma, Jessica and Clark will photograph our local landscape to create two site-specific pieces for our property’s art collection.
Jessica and Clark will also lead an interactive talk about their practice, Exploring the Epic and the Everyday. Through images of their past work, stories about their practice, and a casual Q&A session, the duo will discuss their photographic techniques, artistic themes as well as their creative approach to photographing Sonoma.
This creative workshop will be paired with natural wines from local producer, Las Jaras Wines.
Artist talk is complimentary. Weather permitting, the event will be held outdoors by the central firepit at MacArthur Place. Otherwise, the event will be held indoors in our Coach House. To maintain social distancing, space is limited to 12 guests and masks are required.
