Twelve Nights of Marvel
Celebrate the advent of the holidays with a 12-night series of marvel and wonder-filled moments at MacArthur Place. Each day reveals a different experience that piques the curiosity, awakens the senses and connects the community. The 12-night series takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning on Friday, November 24th with a unique and enchanting experience each afternoon or evening, culminating on Sunday, December 17th. We welcome hotel guests and the local community to experience these marvelous Sonoma holiday events.
This year, in the spirit of giving back to our Sonoma community, we would like to encourage voluntary donations to the valuable local organization Sonoma Overnight Support. Donations can made online through the link here.
Sonoma Overnight Support is a nonprofit dedicated to shelter the homeless and feed the hungry in Sonoma and Sonoma Valley.

Pomme Cider Shop Pop-up

Sonoma’s only cider tap room and bottle shop, Pomme Cider Shop is home to 18 taps and over 100 different ciders from the west coast and across the globe. Owners Rick and Jessica will share pours of a few of their favorite artisan producers along with some zero-proof apple cider.

Elyx Espresso Martinis with Wolf Coffee

Family owned and operated in Sonoma County for over 30 years, Wolf Coffee provides 100% Arabica, organic, and hand roasted coffee to its loyal community. We proudly pour it in Layla & the Porch, and with the debut of their Nitro Cold Brew, will be serving it up in the form of Espresso Martinis at the Bar at MacArthur. Sip, chat, and be merry with Nick & Natasha, the husband and wife duo and next generation of the Wolf Coffee business.

Hand-painted Ornament Workshop with Artist Alex Cole [class is full]
December 1, 2023 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Let’s get into the holiday spirit, gather together and get back to the art of the handmade gift, no art experience necessary. Local Sonoma painter and mixed media artist, Alex Cole, will guide you step by step to create one of a kind heirloom ornaments and gift cards for the Holidays complete with a gift box. Your thoughtfully made gifts can be kept for personal merriment or gifted to a special someone this holiday season. Come away with two finished ornaments per person.

Volo Chocolate Pop-Up & Tasting
December 2, 2023 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Jeff and Susan Mall of Volo Chocolate discovered their passion for chocolate while living and working as chefs in Mexico. They started experimenting with flavors, created a “bean-to-bar” craft chocolate recipe and, when they returned to Sonoma County, launched their own artisan chocolate business. They use sustainable chocolate from farmers in Guatemala and Haiti for their handmade chocolate bars (from the 70% Dark Chocolate Meyer Lemon & Extra Virgin Olive Oil to the 65% Chocolate Mocha WOLF Coffee + Cream).

Kivelstadt Cellars Pop-up

Our fun and festive friends at Kivelstadt Cellars will host a holiday pop-up highlighting fan favorites from their portfolio (they’re known for their Rhone-style wines, interesting Mediterranean varietals such as Carignane and Charbono, as well as bright expressions of mainstays such as Sauvignon Blanc) paired with scrumptious bites by our culinary team.

Bulb Garden Workshop with Marion Moss Floral Design

Join Susan Stremlau, owner of Marion Moss Floral and floral designer for MacArthur Place, for a holiday “bulb garden” workshop. Susan will lead you in creating your own planted garden arrangement with seasonal bulbs that will flourish into a fragrant and colorful centerpiece for peak holiday season.

“Scents of the Valley” Workshop with FLWR Napa Valley
December 10, 2023 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Explore the connection between scent and place in this 90-minute interactive experience. Participants delve into seven primary botanical scents of Sonoma Valley, including the characteristics, attributes, and wellness properties of each, and walk away with a personalized Aura Mist made with the materials explored in class. We will be adding a holiday twist to this workshop, with the addition of some classic holiday scents such as clove, mint, and cocoa.

Pours at the Porch: Holiday Edition with Extradimensional Wine Co. Yeah!

Join us for our new series, “Pours at the Porch”, in which we’ll highlight a local Sonoma winery partner every other Friday afternoon in the Porch for a tasting of select wines & bites. Guests will have the opportunity to order these unique wines by the glass in the Bar at MacArthur or Layla for two weeks following the tasting.

Meet Santa Claus

The one and only Santa (real beard and all!) along with his favorite elf helper will take center stage in the lobby of MacArthur Place on Saturday afternoon. Come and whisper your holiday wishes to Father Christmas, you will then have eight days to ensure your spot on the nice list.

Prohibition Spirits + S’mores
December 17, 2023 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
To conclude our series, Prohibition Spirits will bring their Travel Bar, a vintage trailer restored into a craft cocktail bar called the “Trav-L-Bar” to the Coach House. Enjoy tastings from a local craft distillery that produces wine country-inspired small-batch artisanal spirits while roasting s’mores by the fire.

The Twelve Nights of Marvel Sonoma holiday events have been created to bring the spirit of the season alive for MacArthur guests, Sonoma locals, and visitors alike. The Bar at MacArthur and Layla are open and accepting reservations each evening, so we invite you to stay for a seasonal cocktail or a bite after each 12 Nights of Marvel event.
