24 Hours Of Serenity:
An Idyllic Summer Day In Sonoma

Your Idyllic Spot To Spend A Summer Day In Sonoma

Summer is a magical season marked by long days of relaxation and exploration in synch with the extended sunlight hours. As we approach the Summer Equinox in Sonoma, we revel in 15+ hours of brilliant sunlight (and twilight) which provides ample time for a host of fun activities. We’ve composed a summer itinerary that’s the perfect alchemy of serenity, discovery and adventure. Read on for our take on the perfect summer day in Sonoma.

8:00 am – Percolate

Start your day of serenity like a slow drip coffee – wake up with the light of the sun rather than the buzzing of an alarm. Make your way to The Porch for your reliable order or take a barista’s recommendation for an adaptogen boost to assist in alleviating any lingering stress from your daily life (current favorite: Power Dust from Moon Juice to support stamina, recovery, and a healthy immune system).

9:00 am – Flow

Stretch your body into vacation-mode with weekend morning yoga – Rise & Shine Flow, an energizing vinyasa practice to inspire you to move through the rest of your day with intention and ease. This class, complimentary for hotel guests, unites body and breath with clear instruction and modifications for all levels.

11:00 am – Vine, Wine & Dine

Enjoy a quintessential wine country experience that takes you through Three Sticks Winery’s famed Durell Vineyard. The Durell Vineyard Excursion starts with a tour of the unique terrain and nuanced terroir that produces the fruit you’ll soon be tasting. La pièce de résistance – a private Lebanese-inspired luncheon paired with 5 Durell Vineyard wines awaits you beneath the shade of an ancient oak tree. This MacArthur exclusive offer is available Thursday – Sunday through September 12.

2:00 pm – Peruse

Borrow a Blix Bike from MacArthur Place for a slow ride to Sonoma Plaza and make a stop at Purely Sonoma for self-care pampering. From skin care to makeup and hair care to accessories, shop their expertly sourced collection of clean beauty essentials. Tip: If it’s Tuesday and you linger around the Plaza until 5:00 pm, be sure to experience the Farmer’s Market.

7:00 pm – Nourish

Find a table at Valley Bar + Bottle, local favorite and MacArthur best of the best, for California farm fresh cooking – simple food driven by seasonal produce. Also explore their curated wine collection with a focus on organic, biodynamic, regenerative & traditional agricultural practices.

8:30 pm – Sunset

As the sun goes down take a seat around a communal firepit at MacArthur Place with a hot tea or nightcap (might we suggest The Apiary – our spin on a Bee’s Knees, made with matcha tea, raw honey, lemon and a sprig of lavender from our gardens). Allow the dancing flames and the cool night air to lull you into total relaxation.

Another Summer Day In Sonoma: The Coast

When it’s time to plan for your next summer day in Sonoma, swap in a day along the coast. After your morning brew at The Porch, take a drive out to the Pacific Coast, about an hour drive from MacArthur Place. Start with a hike along Kortum Trail, recommended by Weekend Sherpa as an “8-mile (round-trip) beach-to-beach ramble.” Follow it up with a seafood lunch in Bodega Bay, then as you meander your way back to Sonoma, make a stop at Paul Hobbs Wines to toast another relaxing summer day.
